The light wasnt great this day so I thought it was the perfect time to try this technique. For a first attempt I'm really happy with how these turned out. Let me know if you've tried this before and if there are any tips or tricks you learned in the process.
Hi Adrian. I like the first image for its minimal and so to say silent mood without any focal distractions. For me its good to adore any wall stand alone or even background to any processing of new photographic composition. For second image, I felt the tree being the focal point needed all the glory of details. Would love to hear other opinion. cheers.
Thanks for the feedback Vijay, appreciate it. I like the first one more too, but I do like the white highlights sort of bleeding down into the green/yellow leaves in the second image.
These are both great but the second one is AWESOME! I love it. I like that you can still tell that they are trees while getting the cool ICM effect. Nicely done!
As you can see abstract images appeal to different people in different ways but I'm with you/Vijay on this one.
I really like the color palette and the way the image hints of the subject rather than presenting obvious detail/clues.
I do feel that too much of the top of image #2 is burnt out and a major distraction - you could try cropping if you want to compare (see quick example).
Great first attempts. I am busy studying the variety of ICM techniques myself and the best advice I can give thus far is to keep experimenting.
As can be seen on some other entries I have a link to my project/blog on the subject - if interested I can return a link.
hi Alan, Please share the link
Here's the link to my project on ICM - selecting an image will enlarge and provide details;

There is also a series of discussions on my blog page - feel free to comment on anything as you see fit, I love to hear feedback (good OR bad).
Those are amazing shots Alan, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Adrian- glad to hear all the practice is paying off
I look forward to seeing more from you.
Hi Alan, indeed good concept. And also assume that this effect too was clicked at location and not PP work. cheers.
ICM is "in camera movement/motion" I believe, so its safe to say they were all done in camera. Of course there would be PP but the blur itself is in camera
Hi Adrian, I believe Vijay is referring to 'Path Blur' or similar in PS which can simulate the same effect.
There's still nothing that beats the 'real thing' though :-)
Right, its just you mentioned ICM so I assumed it was all done in camera (the blur that is)
Hi, Yes I referred the blury movement. A while back I was trying by moving the camera but was not happy with result. Alans similar other frames of trees are very good too. cheers.
Hi Adrian, you should check out Sandra Bartocha, she has a lot of experimental stuff like this, see https://www.bartocha-photography.com/index.php?section=portfolio&sub_por...
Cool stuff! Thanks for sharing that. You should check out Alan (commented above), he's got a lot of similar, experimental work.
