Should I be seeing more than wispy clouds? I will look out the song in question to see if it steers me in the right direction.
Ok, listened to it. Clearly, I don't really know clouds at all...
I like the cloud & composition, Andrew, but I find the colour overpowering. However, most people like more saturation than I.

The blue sky that day was overpowering, Chris. It was hardly changed at all.

I don'k know it you shot RAW; camera jpegs seem to have boosted saturation by default. Monitors differ, too, so I may not be seeing what you are.
I know the sky can be very deep blue up high, but somehow this just looks distractingly unnatural to me (and obviously not necessarily to others), spoiling the effect. In particular the clouds at top don't just quite look like faint clouds against a deep blue sky. I edit until it looks right, comparing with the original for interest, not looking to it as the truth.
That's not to say you should do the same! Always interested in your posts. FWIW I append a quick edit for my tastes.
