Hey Mike,. I don't know if it is the pole at left, the wall or the crop - this one isn't gripping me. Sorry my friend! I don't usually leave a comment without a suggestion but I don't have one! "Crash". That was Chris fainting. :)

I've picked myself up off the floor, Dear Leader. That's for remembering me. It is ME, isn't it?Isn't it?

that is completely fine by me Ruth. I like it :)

I share a little of Ruth's sentiment, Mik, but don't feel so strongly as she. I do basically like the composition, but it's a bit as if it's just too drawn out vertically. I think the pole, small but obvious, balances the large dark mass. The uncooperative bird could have stayed just a little further from the picture's edge. Maybe I'd reduce the contrast by lifting the shadows. I might try an edit & post it when I have more time. Now I'd better get back to my work! Fstoppers always more fun.

Here's what I was thinking of. I wouldn't alter an image of my own as much, but just showing something that looks a litttle better to me.

hmm ..no dont like it sorry :) and altering the position of the bird...:/ there are three smal elements in the pic that mark an upside down triangle to complement the mountain (triangle) by changing the bird , that is gone. I ynderstand your wish for brightening the blacks but maybe this pic was not a good online pic it is beautifull to have darks with detail :)

Fair enough - it's your image!

I've just altered my previous edit so it looks better to me, although it's beginning to look a little unnatural, like an engraving. However, that's a look I find appealing. Just a personal view here.

I like it!
