Always intriguing, I think the B&W offers a different perspective. I especially like how the depth of fled and lighting on #2 & #3 create added depth to the image.
#3 feels better balanced to me and is my favorite. although #1 offers a lot in its simplicity.
Thanks Alan. I love when people have different favorites in a grouping like this. It makes me look at them again with a different perspective. They are in order of preference for me. I'll have to at the third one more closely now!
Hmmm... on revisiting I do like #1 due its simplicity and 'cluttered' nature.
That said I do enjoy the depth created by the selective focus in #2 & #3.
I think you will have a lot of tonal scope converting your color collection and am excited to see some results.
I like these, Ruth! Your first B&W ones? I especially like the first. The second has a sense of drama, as it calls to my mind an actor on a stage, with shadow from a stage light. The third is getting a bit busy.for me.
Just read Alan's post. It seems we're destined to always almost agree, but differ on a crucial point!
Hey Chris,. I've been so captivated by the crazy colors so far that I didn't really think of B/W until I could only put my fingers on black ink. I thought I would do a white background and black ink but there was a yellowy tint to the light. For giggles I converted to B/W and really liked them! Surprise! I have two more really simple ones that I'll post soon.
Hi Ruth. For me image 1 for minimal concept. Composition and BW subject Tones. As my opinion, contrast could be more. Also the lighting could be a little different. one another option could be a central circular background light providing good backdrop and also enhancing the composition.
enjoying one of your the strong inclinations.
