Hey Kyle! I call this process "kitchen shooting" and do it on rainy weekends in my house. This is where my inks came to be. I also play with oil and water sometimes. All that is run up to ... Fun! Great color! Great idea for staying at home shooting.
Something you may want to try - just for fun! - is layering a thick layer (like a quarter inch) of oil on the water. Carefully drop dye into the oil. It will settle to the bottom of the oil but not break through to the water right away these will look like color bbs. I'll post something to show what I'm talking about.
Wow, Kyle! Love these. Buoyant, happy images we need in this grim historical moment. I like them both, the first for its dynamism and graphic design, while the second for me has a feeling of space, like floating through some brightly-coloured void (Heaven?).
