EDITED Walkover Experiment

I took this hoping for and abstract that brought out the shapes and lighting more than the hallway. I don't know if it was successful. I also flip back and forth between preferring the black and white or color.

I have also never taking a really successful vanishing point style photo and I don't think I have here either. Not enough distance?

Regardless, this is not something I normally do so it is experimental for me! I am open to feedback. 🤗

EDIT: I added the third image based on your feedback. I like it! Do you?

I like this, and my OCD likes this, the symmetry and lines are very nice. I'm lead right down the walk as if I were casing someone which is just beyond the hump and out of line of sight. If I could see all the way down the walk, I think it might loose something and be too much information - I like this comp.

Reminds me I should get out and get some shots while people are locked away. It's interesting when I'm out walking around just for a walk at a local park or path, other people can be a pinch rude... But when I walk around with my 4lbs lens and camera, people are more friendly. It's weird. heh.

If I were able to, there are so many places I'd love to shoot while no one is there. I think the first step in "reopening" should be photographers first!!

Over here we are not under a 100% lock-down but I'd still feel awkward walking around with a tripod, so it would have to be hand-held. I've seen the big cities completely empty on the news but in my town everyone is out walking and at parks. Ugh...

Where is 'over here'?

Connecticut by the looks of his profile.

Yup Connecticut. The Sun came out for about an hour yesterday, back to rain today. Note I'd love to shoot more in the rain but my camera is def not weather sealed.

I like the coloured one better. I would like to see a little bit more of the hallway up there. This is inviting, but it could be more inviting I think. But I like the concept

Thanks Dennis!!

Another vote for color here. FWIW, I flipped my tablet upside down and the image takes on an entirely different feel.

You are right! Interesting. Thanks Robert!

Saw the edit, Ruth. For me, the third conveys more tension and drama, perhaps because the angles create the natural feeling of a descent.

Cheers,
Rob

Thanks for the suggestion Robert! I love it!
