Benny on the Moon

"Spaceship! Spaceship! Spaceship!!!" If you watched the 2014 Lego Movie, you are familiar with Benny the Spaceman and his insatiable desire for spacecraft. I took a moon inspired photo with him a few months ago, but only recently edited it to the kind of look I wanted, inspired partly by the "Fur'st Bodyscape" posted here recently. I also did a different edit in which he is floating in a complete void. I have included the before and both edits. Any critique is welcome, and I wouldn't argue with compliments either :).

Hey Matthew! I love these movies. So funny. And I like playing with the camera and toys do these are fun for me!

I like the first one the best when taking your title into consideration. I do wish he was looking into the frame instead of out though more like the third one. However, the third one has my creative mind going for some reason. I want to play with adding stars or the barest shadow of one of the aliens from Toy Story or a Lego lunar lander or .....

Keep these coming! And keep sane by playing with cameras and toys if you are still sheltering at home.

Those movies were always a blast (pun intended). The photo I based these off of was taken in February, and in the meantime, my moon was dismantled. I'm considering rebuilding it so I can do a reshoot. In the time since I took the first photo, I've learned so much more about photography, lighting, composition, and everything else that I think I could do a better job. I've been looking at the third one myself and trying to psych myself into more creative editing. It's only been a few days since I started crossing the line past global edits, so something like compositing stars into it would be a whole new thing for me. Traditionally, I've edited the bare minimum, but I must say I've enjoyed the creative side. Thanks for reading my ramble and thanks for the comment!

Austin, Texas Blue Hour

Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.

Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!

Two from Tenerife

My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.

Any interest in this group?

Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
