Crop advice

This is an abstract of the Goethals Bridge. The crop choice was tough because there were so many other wires that I don't want. The one image here is just off square. Not sure it works.

Feedback about this, and in general, welcome.

I think that the cropping is successful. The crop you have balances the dark tones of the objects with the gray tones and does the same thing with the amount of "field" or background with the structure in the foreground. Also, worded slightly differently, the business of the lines is balanced with the calmness of the background field. I think what you've done works well.

Thanks Daniel!

For me there is too much distraction on the left side of the frame. I feel a tighter crop provides more balance and a better use of those leading lines.

I'm sure there will be many personal suggestions on how to skin this cat.....

I do like this crop better Alan - thank you for tinkering!!

Hello Ruth. I always love seeing what your eye is exploring. This location has so much potential I can see why you were attracted to it.
To my way of thinking we do not always have to lock our selves into a "standard" perspective format, ie 1:1, 4:5, 2:3 etc so with that in mind....
What about (example below)?
Thanks for sharing

I like this crop Julian - strong central subject and powerful leading lines.

Agreed! I love when people take a crack at edits! I get so much from the input and really enjoy seeing how others interpret a single image. Thanks Julian!

Hi Ruth,
For me the story tellers in this image were important for their place in the composition. This perhaps better done in camera but meanwhile, sharing my take.

I enjoyed what I have done. take it or leave it is your choice...

This is my favorite suggestion Vijay! Thank you!
