Now that we have cycled through the major themes of the group I thought I'd open up a July theme for suggestions. I'd like the group to remain both inclusive and engaged so am looking for thoughts on themes that may inspire the larger group.
Here's a few ideas you can ponder over;
1) Lucky accident. Do you have images that were elevated by some lucky accident? Say and element that you were not aware of when taking, someone stepping into the frame, or even the camera focusing away from the subject but benefitting from that?
2) The one that got away. I know I have a lot of images that showed great potential, but for one reason or another do not live up to what I had hoped for. This could open opportunities for others to comment on that /missing piece of the puzzle'.
3) The Dark side. An emphasis on images that are on the low key side (or alternatively high key).
My goal is to have an overarching theme that will allow members to inspire and help each other, and generate engaging discussions.
As I may not be available for a couple of weeks this will likely be revisited early July.
My lucky accident. I had set out to capture lightning one night but the storm was moving away. Figuring the night was a bust i decided to see what i could come up with on this footbridge. I set the camera exposure for 30 seconds and just at the very end I saw the bolt. I wondered if I had gotten it. Reviewed the shot and there it was, right in the opening of the chain link fence. Who knew i just had to stop trying?
Not exactly the massive strike I was hoping for but it works until i can capture it.
