Per Alan Browns comment on Jenny's post.. The first image, I took and old image, Within Affinity Photo (which I rarely use and this was a purpose driven image to force me to use this software, one of many I use to replace Adobe products and I got cheap on black friday) I created 2 layers, I blurred one layer. and used a blending mode to poke the sharp sticks and leaves through the blurred image. The second image is ICM in camera, and the lights inside the unit are moving as well. I moved the telephoto zoomed the object so it slid and got bigger in the frame. What is it?

It's a group of Birch trees I really like it.
Thanks Dean. I think they are Aspen trees. I live in Colorado and we have a ton of them. They are actually considered the worlds largest organism because they are all connect via their root system.
Thank you for correcting me.
I am very much a fan of the second one. It has a beautiful abstraction about it, and stands in sharp contrast to the black it rests on. The composition and colors are strong, and I greatly enjoy it.
Thanks Matthew. It was part of a challenge for a meet up group.
Hi Rich, your tree image does offer the same type of simulation as Photoshop. The motion blur is help by the fact the trees are more or less uniform/upright. It's great that you got to the point of blending layers to control the level of detail you wished to preserve
How do you personally feel about the image?
Your 2nd image is a great example of what can be achieved by experimenting with various motions. This looks unrecognizable from the original object.
Thanks for posting these wonderful images, I hope to see more from you.
Hi Alan, I tried some other local groups here and there was little participation. As long as people participate, I will continue to post pictures and participate in this group, and I do like minimalist, abstract and experimental.. I am not sure how I feel about the image, I guess I wanted it to have an autumn feel.
Yeah, there seems to be little participation in other groups, I think you have found the right place if you really want to connect to others.
The thing with ICM is to keep experimenting (take LOTS of shots) and learning what works for you. I gave up a couple of times in the past until I set myself a goal of focusing on the techniques and started to see success (in my eyes).
As long as you keep an open mind and have fun doing so, why not?
