Here is my another try with the In-The-Round technique. This time I tried to isolate the subject more, tried to be more conscious of the background, and performed more edits using masking. I'm still trying to understand the layering/opacity process better. It's getting more understandable (thanks, Alan, for your easy to understand video ... https://youtu.be/2xm_QaMUdqs). Getting busy with a maternity shoot; so will have to put off experimenting for a little - if only there were more hours in a day.

Very Nice Jenny. I really like this one.

Thank you, Rich. Hope you are well and enjoying spring out there!

Doing well. It has been cold here (no snow). I am editing people photos and have not been able to get outside and take pics. (I did shoot birds last weekend). Hope everything is going well for you. Good luck with your maternity shoot.

It rained that day. After making the best of an overcast shoot, the sun came out; so we started over, and got the shots we needed. A bit long and tiring, but worth it! Haven't gotten out much here either - cold and rainy. Hope you're able to get out!

It snowed here 4 days ago. It melted the next day.. I have been taking pictures of people and birds lately. I like your image, since she is already round, you should have shot her in the round :)

You mean like this Rich? This is an experimentation of the in-the-round technique I tried some time ago....

I have a question, Alan, about this photo; but I'm going to do it as a general post to the whole group ...

I like that Alan, it has an ethereal soft feel to it

That was totally lame, Rich; but definitely in keeping with the situation - LOL! I love your people photos. They are really good. Snow? Isn't it the end of April? Actually, we are freezing here. Hope you are well.

Yes Jenny, I need to work on my sense of humor. Maybe put her near that tree and shoot in the round. :) Nice picture though. We have had snow in late June a few times in 40 years. This weekend is shot. I have to work and new moon means astro photography and I haven't even gone scouting. I wanted to do some macro this weekend as well. And I have still not got to try in the round and some other abstract I have been wanting to try. Hope you are doing well too. I have been busy, which is a good thing.

Hi r1ch! Did you ever get to shoot the new moon and shoot some macro? We are drenched with rain right as everything started to blossom. Oh well. Hope you are well and getting chances to shoot.

Hi Jenny, Total cloud cover, no astro. Another people shoot in Denver.

The macro shoot was cancelled and the rabbits keep eating the early bloom flowers in my yard. Tulips shoot at the botanical garden on Thurs, I should be able to get up there. I had window cleaners here and spring cleaning and other stuff going on this weekend. Hope things are going well for you and that you are getting out and shooting.

Great shots as always, Rich. I love the dark and the colors.

It was an outside shoot. The light was still very bright. I didn't want my images looking like everyone elses so I put on a 4stop neutral density filter and pulled out my hand held flash (looks like a ray gun) and underexposed the background by 1 full stop and shot at F1.4 so the background was blurred and dark. She is standing on a sidewalk and there was a car parked left of her elbow, but you can't see them.

Great job Jennifer- looks like you have the technique down.

Thank you, Alan! Hope you are well!
