ICM: Ornamental Bush

This time I used an ornamental bush as my subject that had the setting sun just touching the top of it.

Number 1 was caused by rotating the lens. Numbers 2, 3, & 4 shows movement caused by the wind. Numbers 5 and 6 were caused by vertical movement of the camera.

Same as the tree images, I used my Canon 55-250mm lens, f/22-32, 2-4 second exposure time, and iso100. I de-saturated the greens and yellows and increased the contrast a bit in post to bring out some of the details a little more

I think these came out well. I especially like the natural feel of movement caused by the wind in 2, 3, and 4. Number 1 has a nice sunburst-type effect. Numbers 5 and 6 have that impressionistic feeling.

Nice work, Jennifer! I particularly like the first one, and then more or less in descending order from there. It may be because the first has the least of the characteristic ICM "look", which does not appeal to me per se.

I think that the backlight glow lifts these collectively to a higher level for me. Your processing is spot-on in that regard.

Thank you, Chris. The ICM look is difficult for me as well because a lot of times it just looks like an out-of-focus photo. I've been trying to be intentional in getting a more impressionistic look. In that way, my mind is more able to accept the ICM effect. Like you said, the capturing of the light is what helps in these which again would correlate with that impressionistic feel. The light on the bush and the movement caused by the wind was the whole reason for giving it a shot again - and being cooped up in the house for a week. Lol! Thanks again for commenting!

These are fabulous. I particularly like the second one. Very unique and pretty!

Thank you, Ruth; I appreciate you taking the time to look and to comment. Hope you are well and enjoying your summer!
