Alan Brown's picture

Minimal tread

I'm on the fence on this one. A minimal image capture beneath a raised walkway within a Savannah art museum.

Feedback (whether positive or negative) both encouraged and welcomed.

Fun concept Alan.
I think the key to making this idea work is timing.
waiting until the right composition of feet walk by.
Given the horizontal elements waiting for some feet to unsettle and weight the frame might help make this concept work.
Good to see your pushing yourself!

Thanks for the feedback Julian, it's always welcomed.

I totally agree on timing - I actually hung around for quite a while but the traffic overhead was either very light, or otherwise a group passing over that just didn't work.

Perhaps next time I'll camp out for longer (if not forced to move along by museum staff....).

When it comes to people and the composition I have spend hours just waiting for that stupid special moment. I really love the potential of your idea Alan and the fact that you reached for it.

I hear you Julian, unfortunately time was not on my side on this occasion.

Funny, I first saw this as a glass wall - albeit seeing on my phone. Cool pic! Very surreal.

Thanks Charles - it would be even more surreal were it really a glass wall :-)

I think this is an awesome image. I love the opposing lines with the feet breaking the flow of it all. I think cropping out the vertical sides and the bottom most horizontal line would clean this up to perfection.

Hi Jennifer, after seeing your updated image I am in agreement with the crop.

That's what I love about this group - with so many perspectives there is always a chance that one will pick up on something you may have overlooked and that fits perfectly with your vision. I really like the outcome so thanks for being bold enough to suggest the edit.

Alan Brown , my take.
context of absolute regular and controlled elements. There by hold the focus to the element which is breaking this rhythm. Absence of top rail fist subtly attracts the vision to lead to black element.

Another fine editing [perspective - thanks Vijay!
