Autumn: In-The-Round

I've been watching this tree for awhile because it's in an ideal corner of our neighborhood with trees surrounding almost three sides of it, but it's been taking forever to turn color compared with all the other trees around us; then it seemed to have turned overnight!

This is composed of just 8 images taken while moving halfway around the tree. Editing involved 8 layers with opacity reduced in increments from bottom to top and playing around with dodge/burn and color adjustments.

I'm pretty happy with the results. I don't like the fuzziness around the top of the tree.I probably should've played around with the individual layers more to prevent it. I haven't had the chance to work on anything like this for a long time; so this was a relaxing diversion on a rainy afternoon. I included the original base photo too

Canon gear (18-55mm lens)
Aperture Priority f/8 with shutter ranging from 1/160-1/320
29mm

Hope you all are enjoying your autumn (or spring) in your part of the world!

We’ll done Jennifer, I think you have nailed the process.

If you have concerns over ‘fuzziness’ you can always mask in a level of detail from another layer at an appropriate opacity. I think it looks great the way it is.

Beautiful photo. This is a technique I'm going to have to try...

Thank you, Marcus. I would definitely recommend Alan's instructions on his website. He does a fantastic job explaining everything .... https://www.alanbrownphotography.com/ventosa-itr-guide-overview
