I haven't posted anything for a long time. Last night I took some pictures of the sun setting above the road we walk every night. I didn't like them and was going to delete them, but thought maybe I'd change to black and white. Still wasn't happy with them; so I thought I'd try blending the shots together into layers and reducing the opacity here and there to create a more "Alan Brown Photography" style. It turned out okay-ish - good enough to finally post something here. The issue I have is that I could've done a better job with the lines in the center. What do you all think?
* just updated it with the same process but in the original color versions of the images. Also took a little better time aligning things and cleaning them up. I think the light is still too bright. I like the light in the black and white version better.
I really like the B&W. It give the impression of starting off normal and the deeper you get into the photo the closer you get to...The Twilight Zone.
Great job and thanks for posting.
Thnaks for posting Jennifer. I was really drawn to the dramatic feel of the B&W image and didn't realize until I reread your description that this is the result of blended exposures.
I definitely prefer the drama in the B&W version, and actually prefer that things are not lined up perfectly. That said the color version has its own merits, so member preferences may be split.
One thing that did jump out at me - I have a perception that the road is leaning to the right. I have tried a slight rotation for your comparison.
I much prefer the first one but with 1/5 of the right side cropped. I think it's a bit too centered.
