Apart from purple crocuses everywhere right now, we have yellow forsythia bushes galore! My husband, who deeply appreciates all things nature, despises forsythias mostly due to an old battle taming them in his yard. I took pictures of one of the bushes in our neighborhood with the intention of presenting him an abstract forsythian image to possibly appreciate. For this image, I layered 4 copies of the same image on top of each other slightly translated in different directions, played with the layer opacities and masks, then flipped half the image on itself for a symmetrical effect.
I'm pleased with the results and even the shades of yellow color - normally I'm not a fan of yellow. I was pleased at how much of the blossom details were retained while at the same time still maintain an abstract feeling.
While still loathing real forsythias, John did appreciate this abstract version.
Great job with this Jennifer - I love the creativity. I really like the symmetry, and for some reason am seeing an almost religious seated figure with face and welcoming arms in the center.
Abstract indeed!
haha, I do too....but I see two heads!
Based on Alan's observation, I think it's really cool....but IDK, that central figure kinda bothers me. lol
