Book and Pen

Minimalistic, Abstract

I like it. Simple...yet intriguing. I like that you used black and white.

Did you shoot completely in B&W, edit all colors to B&W or adjust color(s) saturation to achieve B&W?

Thank you.. I shot this in monochrome, Slightly adjusted contrast in GIMP.

Thanks for posting Rajesh. The image certainly meets your description.

Were it not for the title I think this would ask questions of the viewer and perhaps demand a longer viewing.

This is wonderfully subtle, with detail in the pen providing just enough information.

For my own taste I think I'd prefer a crop from the bottom right - this seem to balance better with my eye (as attached). That is not to diminish the image or the taste of others in any way - I enjoy it the way it is.

Welcome to the group discussions. I am hoping we will see and hear more from you, perhaps adding your own viewpoint to other ongoing discussions.

Thank you for those insightful critique. I like the crop. It seems to add more emphasis to the pen.. Regarding the title, I thought it would be better to communicate directly. Will keep your comments for future.

Funny, I thought that it was the upper right that could use the cropping. Also, having the pen at a slight angle will give it more depth by giving it a "leading line". Unless you purposely what to keep it more abstract and have the viewer question "what is that?"
