Great challenge idea, Alan. Firstly, I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the email “alerts” to your new blog posts. That works perfectly. I thought there was a commenting area on your site in the past? I had something to say about your most recent post, but then you posted this challenge for discussion; so I'll just comment here … You were right in your blog about how photography can become less joyful when we become overly focused on the end product. My husband is a Type I diabetic. We can count on his sugar rising after meals; so we make it a point to take several walks throughout the day. A few years ago, I started taking my camera along with the intent to capture one image a day. At first it became a burden rather than a joy as I tried to find the perfect elements to make each and every photo a winner. If I couldn't find anything to shoot, I'd be disappointed or frustrated after the walk. It wasn't long before I let go of that attitude and just started enjoying our walks with the one rule that I would photograph whatever might've caught my eye if I wasn't carrying a camera. As I do this everyday, I've come to find the most joy in the process and what I've learned.
As for the photo posted here, just one of those things that “caught my eye” early on.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the change of seasons wherever you are in the world!

Mine usually don't turn out.
But it's the adventure of the journey that matter most.
