Monochrome: December Challenge

I've been wanting to participate in the challenges for some time, but I've been too busy. Since this one is the last one of the year, I dug up 2 monochromatics from a few years back. Both are so representative of the winter landscape here in the heart of PA Dutch country. It always feels so clean and orderly (Amish farms) yet lonely and cold. I used b&w in these because this time of the year, the colors are soooo desaturated. The farm landscapes just blend together into brown.

I'll take this moment to thank this group for a fun year of posts and images; I appreciate what I learn here!

I like that 1st shot how your subjects are dark...here in WA State, it is grey and gloomy quite a bit....

Lovely work as ever, Jenny! The first is extraordinary for the way the wheel tracks and tree shadows resemble each other with that dynamic curve, a striking and attractive feature which also really ties the image togetner.

I also like the sense that the tracks lead to the unknown over the horizon, not clearly heading for the silos, but where...? This creates a sense of mystery or expectation for me that really adds to the image.

And thank YOU for your positive contributions here - in every sense!
