October: Seasonal Foliage

We haven't had too much of a showing yet here. The conditions were perfect for fall foliage, but then we got hit by a lot of rain for 1 1/2 weeks. Not sure if that will affect things or not. Until things get moving along, here are three older photos.

1). Just 3 vibrantly red leaves that caught my eye as they were lying nicely arranged on the sidewalk.
f/4.5, 1/160th, ISO100, 84mm, aperture priority

2). A maple leaf caught by an evergreen on its way down to the ground
f/5.6, 1/250th, ISO160, 152mm

3). An oak leaf catching the last bit of sun before setting
f/5.6, 1/500th, ISO400, 250mm

Great job Jennifer.

1 ~ Acer rubrum with the contrast looks great. I've never tried posting is Alamy or any stock photo sight. Have you had any success?

2 ~ Captured Art. I like how the structure of the capturer contrasts with the capturee. Just enough dappled light in the background foliage to keep the photo interesting. A solid background sky wouldn't be the same.

I found one in a web and I ducked around it before deciding to go back and photograph it with the camera I had, instead of the camera I wish I had.

3 ~ I like the mysteriousness of how the foreground shade mimics the shape of the subject. Good eye.

The foliage around here is hit and miss as well. I am heading to the Oregon Coast and will be there all week and bring a few cameras and lenses.

Wonderful shots Jenny, thanks for sharing.

I especially like #1 for its simple composition (just love how the leaves fell that way), and #3 for its drama.

These a great photographs, Jenny!
They have in common that their content is reduced to a minimum. You played the shapes and colors successfully!

The 3 red acer leafs are quite punchy in the way they are presented: a strong color and shape contrast.

I fell in love to the semi lit oak leaf. Just showing a less than half part. Challenging my brain to imaging the rest. Keeping the rest mysterious. Beautiful!

Love the first and last ones, Jennifer!

Thank you, Charles! Nice to hear from you.
