Just to make others aware of this. The Adobe Phtography (monthly) plan (LR + PS) is set to increase significantly in January 2025.
The reason I mention this is that the annual plan will stay the same price. Users of the monthly plan may want to consider switching to save the $60 increase.
From Adobe;
Starting January 15, 2025, the price of the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan with 20GB storage will increase in all countries.
- Annual billed monthly: Increase of US$5, from US$9.99 to US$14.99 per month
- Annual prepaid: No increase, the price will remain US$119.88 per year
*The exact price will vary by currency and country.
That’s why I use Affinity Photo. Maybe a little less horsepower but you own it, no subscription.
There is a lot of misinformation out of Social Media stating the price increase, but not clarifying whom it applies to.
Doesn't effect me.
According to Adobe this impacts those with a monthly photography plan, bug I’m not sure if other plans are affected.
If you’re not impacted that’s great!
Thank you for the heads up, Alan. I am on the monthly plan; so I'm going to have to switch to the yearly unless someone can recommend a software similar to Lightroom capabilities without the subscription. I don't use the AI stuff; so anything comparable to the PS before all that stuff.
A big factor for me would be the migration of work from Lightroom. I use the catalog extensively, and use that as my primary editing tool.
I am sure other apps provide tools to help transfer, but I’ve not looked into it.
Have other members migrated in the past?
