Can't really give advice on editing, but I wish you took a shot without her on the dock - maybe a few moments after the rowers start rowing away. With a low perspective, and a team rowing away all those discarded shoes on the dock might have looked interesting.

I have that shot too :) Shall post!

What I like about this shot is her eyeline. She's pretty much all ready to go (both sculls are in) and now she's waiting for the pair to push away before getting into her own boat, but rather than focusing on what's around her, her look is out to the water where she will spend the next hour and a half honing her skill and building her ability to deliver that perfect 2,000m race in Sarasota at the World Championships at the end of September.

@Svemir - Here's the shot I took that is closest to what you suggested. I can see the angle could have been a lot lower had I been on the dock, as well as using a wide angle lens instead of an 85mm.

But thanks for the suggestion!

Also, I did some further editing to the main shot...

Let me know what you think.

Oops - sorry if my comment sounded as if I did not like your original shot :) I like the composition and the story there too. I was just too inspired by my own idea (which may as well be very hard to do well in real life, with footwear being footwear...)
