Beauty in Beautiful Places

Had an idea to capture a juxtaposition of a fashion type portrait, in some beautiful location, and made the following image while on a trip to Banff National Park. I typically just do landscape/adventure type of stuff, so this was out of the norm for me. It was a fun shot to make, and hoping to do more in the future. Would love any feedback/thoughts.

colors are great, though something is off. Maybe its the angle.

This is a shot with potential. Great background, beautiful model and good use of colour to separate her from the background. However, your model is positioned in an unflattering way.
First of all, try turning her so she is not square to the camera. Position her feet so that the front foot is pointing at the camera with her knee slightly bent. Move her hips away from the camera and try turning her upper body back to the camera ( this will make her waist smaller and the upper body a little larger. Use the hands similarly to what you have done, keeping the camera side upper arm slightly away from her body (so you don't make her upper arm appear larger than it really is). Try tipping her head a bit and watching Where her hair falls. Try this today with anyone you can photograph and you will see that it will make a big difference. Your choice of putting her in the middle of the frame was good as the edges appear to be slightly distorted

Thanks for taking the time to respond Bill. She's not a model (my girlfriend) and less than comfortable in front of the camera, and I dont often shoot people.. so this was all new for both of us haha. I appreciate the useful posing suggestions and will keep them in mind for the next one. Cheers.

I like the image but I am agreeing with Joseph. I think that the thing that is off is the height of the camera, the distance to the model, and the composition not including the sky. Standing a little further away would have helped with the perspective and distortion of the trees in the foreground.

Great concept and location though..
