Her pose is incredibly awkward. Women should have curves, she looks like a pear.
It was just to try something different in term of pose. But probably you're right: it doesn't work
If she's pregnant, it works. I think the pose might have worked if you could have pinned her shirt back. Always great to keep clothes-pins, or small clamps of any kind to pull clothes the way we want. Everything else about the pic is working.
