So close to what I've been looking for

I do contract work for a studio in town. I do photos for recording clients. I've been trying to get the perfect photo of a someone on the drums. It would be ideally this, but if you look at the sticks, the left one is blurry while the other is frozen.

"Why don't you just up the shutter speed?" - Well because with that shutter speed, I'm shooting at max ISO before the image starts to fall apart. Which really just leaves me to keep trying until I luck up. I keep hoping that each different drummer will keep the sticks suspended in the air for just a little while longer, which results in the sticks slowing down, and me getting the shot, but they don't primarily because they're recording, and not performing live.

Anyways, I just figured I would come on here, and vent about my problems.

Hope y'all are quarantined well.

Hey Nick, cool perspective. Was that up on a ladder?
Easier to get sharp drum stick from the front. I also do the opposite, slow the shutter down a bit more for a different effect.
