First post on Fstoppers and as I've just returned from a month hiking/camping in this awesome country I thought I'd post a shot from one of their horse festivals that they are rightly famous (infamous) for.
The national sport of Kyrgyzstan is called Kok Boru (aka dead goat polo or Buzkashi) and highlights the skill of their riders as they wrestle for control of a headless and footless dead goat, often grabbing the poor animal’s heavy carcass from the ground, one handed, whilst on the gallop. It is a rather brutal sport that is, in various forms, played in numerous countries from Afghanistan to Mongolia by Central Asia’s formidable horsemen.
