The Sun and the Moon: Edited to add last photo
I wanted to see how my 50 year old Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 s.s.c. would handle photographing both the Sun and the Moon.

Sterling in silhouette
I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

To me, the lights attract my eye as the strongest element in the composition. I find I must force myself to look at the musician. I would like to see more of the face and the keyboard, an a view more towards a profile shot.
Yep, i must agree... that light just takes over the whole shot.
