The Sun and the Moon: Edited to add last photo
I wanted to see how my 50 year old Canon FD 800mm f/5.6 s.s.c. would handle photographing both the Sun and the Moon.

Sterling in silhouette
I held a lighting workshop recently. Sterling was the model. I rarely shoot silhouettes but I wanted to incorporate that arch into a shot. Backlighting became an obvious choice.

Hi Nathan, let me start by saying that I'm definitely not a pro so I'll just offer my thoughts on your image.
I find my eye in a tug of war, first settling on the brightest part of the image with the walking figure, and then being led away by the leasing lines of the rails.
I tried zooming in and came up with a tighter crop which emphasizes the figure and frames it with the rails instead of the rails leading my eye away.
Hope this helps...
Regards,
Mike
