Here's a shot from a recent condo shoot I did in Las Vegas at the Panorama Towers. Had a blast shooting this property, this is one of the shots that I liked from the series. Originally this was not staged, just empty, what a difference the furniture, towels, plants and candles make to set the mood. I did 5 brackets to make sure I had the information I needed in the shadows and highlights. No flash was used, only the ambient lighting. In order to get the strip exterior views without any window reflections, i had to take an exposure with all the lights and candles off, then masked in the views in post. C & C always appreciated.
Man, your choice of angle is always good Fraser. I love the exposure and the mood it gives. Leading lines to the bath from all four corners is a lock, no doubt and makes the super wide angle work. I love the lights and the towels/shelf, in fact the whole composition is great, even if I find my eye drawn to the centre candle/reflection in handrail a tad. I feel like perhaps you could have moved the flowerpot closer to the window so it more frames the bath than covers it, maybe... It is more symmetrical your way though. Just nitpicking a great image.
I only have one gripe, and it is something I come across a lot too. I used to leave it but now I've started fixing it in post. The exposure of the view doesn't match the light bleed/reflections on the window/door frames. To people that know what they're looking at, you get that 'photoshoppy' kind of feel. 9 of 10 people probably couldn't even spot it and it's tedious to pen tool it all if you can't get a good selection with luminosity masks, but if you were gonna use it as a portfolio piece (which you should!) it might be worth blending in.
Thank for the comments, much appreciated. The windows on this unit was tough, it had windows out side and glass inside in front of the frames, the interior glass made it a challange, I'll make sure to spend some extra time on it to fix all the little details.
