narrow street -acute angle how to overcome it ?

Hello everyone :)
I recently came a cross a problem which many of you probably had to deal while shooting architecture .
I had to photograph a building for real estate company .
the problem i came a cross while shooting is that the street was very narrow and my angle for the building was to acute . there wasn't any space i could use for having a better angle .
i was using canon 5d mark II and 16-35 lens.
i tried to find some higher platforms to stand on but unfortunate they weren't high enough and ideal for taking the shoot .
the street itself was very messy and packed with parked cars .
the result's i was getting were very difficult to work with specially because of my angle to the building and the distortion i was getting from the lens .

i tried correcting the perspective in photoshop but i"m not sure i got the best results .

i would love to have some tip's on this matter .

thank you !

Check your local MLS rules, but in most urban areas you're allowed to just photograph an entryway or part of a building rather than the entire structure. So most likely you don't need to try and capture the entire building.

Its more helpful if you show the photo to see how I can help.

This is one of those cases where the gear IS as important as the photographer because no amount of skill will change the physics of the environment you have to shoot in. Instead you will need to you experience to get around the shortcomings. I am in Hong Kong and the streets are very narrow here, so I understand your plight. Oh for the luxury of the wide Canadian streets of my wife's home city.

1. Buy a pole - put the camera on the pole so you can get above the cars and use something like the camranger or (if using Canon) the DSLR Controller app to shoot.
2. Hire a double decker open top bus and get it to stop outside the clients building (your billing them for this btw) so you can use it as a shooting platform to get over the cars etc.
3. Shoot an "artistic" exterior. If you can't get back far enough get closer and point the camera up the building.
4. rent a tilt shift lens.

Thank you Dan !
I did managed to climb on something in the street but it wasn't high enough, regarding the bus solution (i like the creativity) but there is no bus going over there.. and also the budget wasn't enough for this specific job.
Do you think a tilt shift Lens would solve it ?
