I like the character of the photo. I would have liked to see the complete dome in the ceiling but it may not have been possible with lens you were using. If you return to this location you may want to try HDR shots- I would take 3 exposures -2, 0, +2 then combine them using an HDR app (in Photoshop, Lightroom, Aurora HDR, etc.). The HDR version would bring out more shadow and highlight details. Tripod preferable but I have shot HDR exposures without a tripod
This was shot with a 17mm T/S lens as a panoramic - 3 shots in portrait mode, making a 5x4 crop.
I am a little confused by your HDR, bracketing idea - I always bracket and then luminosity mask or blend as a HDR as my base image and then edit from there. I would never get the result I do without multiple exposures.
