The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in historic Abbeville, SC.
This was an interesting subject for me that presented a couple of "firsts." This is my first attempt at a panoramic photo... This little church is very close to the street so I stood on the edge of the sidewalk and took 5 shots, moving up just slightly with every shot to be sure I didn't miss any part of the building. I didn't have my tripod with me (like a big dummy), so I focused on freezing in place and pivoting my shoulders and arms up just a little at a time. I probably looked kind of silly to people driving by, but I think it was worth it.
The second "first" is that this is my first attempt at an HDR photo. After I stitched everything together for the panorama, I realized that there were too many shadows in the windows and the sky washed out. I duplicated the files with varying exposures, merged them together, and ended up with this.
Overall, I feel pretty good about my firsts, but I'd greatly appreciate feedback... Always learning, always trying to take a better picture!
I'm looking forward to stitching my first picture. This is great!
what program did you use?
Thank you! This was a fun experiment. I used Photoshop to do the stitching. Luckily, it does most of the work for you, and can create either horizontal or vertical panoramas. Here's a good tutorial I found to walk me through it: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/create-panoramic-images-photomer...
thank you - wasn't sure if there was aprogram that only did stitching
