Critique, first time shooting architectural photography

I have never really focused on shooting architectural elements in my photography. Normally I'm the kinda person who looks for the landscapes up in the mountains. However I've been put in a situation where I'm living in the city for the summer were I'm getting the itch to go out and shoot something even if its not a landscape shot. Yesterday was the first time I wandered around with my camera and looked for inspiration.

The two images below are what I took away with yesterday. Any suggestions on how those or maybe where to look for unique inspiration in cities.

Nice images. Architectural shots usually require perspective corrections in post as lines that are dead on will strengthen these images.

Great photos for a first try. I would definitely say both images suffer from being a bit too muted for my own taste. I think it ends up making them look less crisp and sharp. I would also consider putting a bit more thought into your crops - they look rather arbitrary. Great place to be starting for sure!
