Hello everyone. I got to photograph a new space for a local brewery this past week. The space is mostly empty right now, they are moving in next year. These are the "before" photos and hopefully I will get to work on the after photos as well. The space is an old power plant with a theater in the back.
These are a few of my favorites. I used a slightly dark hdr image as my base image and added in my flash shots. I tried to be subtle with it. I then used the same hdr image as my top layer on the luminosity blend mode at about 30-40% opacity.
Anyways, would love some feedback on these. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing Kyle. Out of curiosity how are these photos being used? That would help me frame feedback.
As-is, the images provide me with a sense of the spaciousness of the interior. The lights being so distorted though, is something I'd try to correct (on site not in post).
They are being used for like press releases advertising their new space. They'll be moving in next summer.
Well I hope you get one of the inaugural pours, on the house man :) - given the use case, I like that you represented the condition of the place (e.g., minimal touch-up on seats and stuff), so that the promo shots afterward will really shine. Everything scales up / down well.
I still think you go for less distortion next time even if that means bringing a ladder and stitching a few shots together. That will also save you some time matching things up, if you're asked to provide before and after shots.
Hope you get the work dude!
Thanks, me too! I didn’t even think about the lights. But yeah, I purposely didn’t touch up to much so it would look rugged.
