Just saw this group. Having just moved to the Atlanta area (Marietta) last December, I'm pumped to find this group. Hopefully more Atlanta peeps join this group.
My name is Mac MacDonald and I'm currently in my first year of charging people to take their pictures. I focus primarily on wedding photography, but also do head shots (ton of those requests in mini-Hollywood aka Atlanta), family shoots, maternity, and adding boudoir. My wife is my second shooter and, when not second shooting weddings with me, is building out her maternity and boudoir business.
I've only been into photography 3 years. I started shooting landscapes then stumbled into to "people work". I have a ton to learn but am super happy with my progress and pumped to tackle, one by one, the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. Atlanta seems to be a great place to dig in and build a strong portfolio and a solid career in photography.

I agree that Atlanta is a great place for a photographer these days. It is my hopes that once this group grows we can set up a meet up.
