I like the stark contrasts bin this image and the general low-key approach, the composition and posture is working quite well for me, although I must admit that the dark side of his face is bugging me a bit and I would have lightened it using a reflector constrained to only his face (as you specifically were going for a one-light solution).
Clean, simple, good lighting, good model, not to bad of a pose. Few tips. I would honestly try cropping this image and see if you like it better. I feel like there isn't enough info in the wide shot to warrant it showing as much as it is. I also think the shot overall falls a bit flat. I say add some contrast and see if you like that too.
