Focus Stacking ~ New to Me
I am interested in learning Macro/Closeup photography and understanding that Focus Bracketing is a good part of the process, I thought I would give focus stacking a try.
Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5. NOTE: With this lens the minimum focusing distance is 18" at which point you have 1/4" depth of field.
Austin, Texas Blue Hour
Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.
Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!
Two from Tenerife
My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.

hey man, the overall feel of this image is really nice! A Few things..The first thing that jumps out at me is the horizon isn't straight, which is an easy fix. Second the highlights on the side of the can are a little blown out. Using some other diffusion or a lower power setting on your strobe will remedy this. Lastly I really like the way it looks like it's shot on ice, really cool touch. But the steam coming off the can gets lost into the background. A little more subtle and you have a great shot! Hope this helps.
thanks man for the positive and important tips.
Generally a great shot! I agree that the first issue is the blown out edge lighting on the can. the horizon is a problem because it's so sharp that it fights the can for attention. And the background color also seems to compete with the can color as well. and it doesnt bring any"refreshing" feel either. I would change that.
The can itself looks really good, great condensation and water droplet definition. Also, you might want to drop lower and shoot up at the can a bit more.
