Client came to me on Monday of last week asking for a quick and as they called it "down and dirty photoshoot" of their new caddy to hold ketchup, mustard and mayo to put into a powerpoint presentation. I had all the product sent to me by Wednesday, shot on Thursday and photo delivered to the client on Friday. Thought I would share the before and after to this group and get any feedback you all were willing to offer.
The only issue I have is that I can't read the label on the caddy. It's not very legible. I would think that would be a big issue for the client. One way to have fixed that if you like the overall lighting on the caddy, would be to re-shoot the label with lighting adjusted so it's easy to read, and then superimposing that image. Just a suggestion. I know you said it was a "down and dirty" shoot, but most clients of this sort will reject any work that doesn't strongly communicate their moniker.
I like the final a lot. Why did you shoot it on gray instead of white?
First thanks for the replys guys.
To continue the discussion that Mike Patrick started, I did play around with different lighting setups on the caddy label. I was mainly battling a black spot on appearing on the label since it is such a reflective surface. I felt that this was the best solution. Could you provide more insight on how you might have shot/lit this? I will say that the client was more concerned about the bottle than the caddy.
Rob Lindsay. This was actually shot on white. The caddy and product was just blowing out so quickly on this as compared to the background.
