Watch Photography

Hello All,

Would really appreciate your feedback on this.
Just for context, this is my watch that is now three years old, so there was a fair bit of post production needed to clear up the small scratches and blemishes. Would of course loved to have had a brand new one to do this with!
Tried to create some interest and a setting for the watch by placing it into water ripples.
Please let me know your constructive thoughts, thank you :-)

Love the concept and the lighting! For me personally I want to see the camera angle a little lower. Other than that I think the highlights overall could be a tad brighter. It would show a little more definition in the water while keeping that deep black atmosphere.

Those two tiny things are honestly all I can think of adjusting, but by no means does this image not sell it already for me. I think you did a great job!

Hi William,

Really appreciate your comments on this and I think you’re totally right about the highlights, I played with those for quite sometime and you know how it goes after fiddling too much... you end up thinking it’s right when in reality it’s not lol

I was struggling with the camera angle. I actually used a black baking tin, with a small amount of water in, so the lip of the baking tin was too high for me to get any lower without it getting in the way, once again though - agree with your thoughts on that.

Thanks again and appreciate you taking the time to give feedback 🙌

Anytime! I totally understand what you mean about fiddling too much. I sometimes have to take a break for an hour after working on an image just so I can look at it with fresh eyes.
