Focus Stacking ~ New to Me
I am interested in learning Macro/Closeup photography and understanding that Focus Bracketing is a good part of the process, I thought I would give focus stacking a try.
Vintage Lens
Another visit to our garden using a vintage lens (Canon FD 50mm f/1.4) on my Canon R5. NOTE: With this lens the minimum focusing distance is 18" at which point you have 1/4" depth of field.
Austin, Texas Blue Hour
Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.
Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!
Two from Tenerife
My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.

I like it honestly reminds me of a shot I did of cool water years ago. If you can swing it I would go for a faster shutter speed to try to stop the water action more so it looks less fuzzy. Also different background color I just feel like the black isn't doing justice for the blue bottle.
Hi Michael, thanks for the constructive feedback! In all honesty, this isn’t one I wanted in my portfolio for those exact reasons. Since then I have a full strobe set up, where as this was captured when I was building up experience with splash photography. Totally agree with you though and thank you for commenting, I appreciate it 👍😊
Absolutely, can't wait to see your future work and maybe a final of this. What strobe set up did you end up getting?
Thanks Michael 👍
I ended up going for the new Bowen’s set up - the XMS500’s. I’ve been using them a fair bit and they’re holding up well, a little disappointed that the LCD display screen on one of the strobes came loose on day one, but it was easily put back in with superglue lol but apart from that they’re good.
