Available light capture of G500, thoughts and feedback?

Hello All!

I would consider myself quite advanced in regards to Photography. Automotive is a new genre I would like to include in my portfolio as it ties in seamlessly with the type of location I seek for my images (check out @maxleitner on IG for more of my work).

This shot is part of a week long shoot I am doing with Mercedes Benz in Germany. I would love to hear your thoughts and tricks in regards to shooting on location with only available light.

I am aware of the use of CPL, sadly since I shoot on nikon so everything is 77mm, but am bound to shooting on a Leica at the moment.

Cheers and Thanks,
Max

my version... it is easier for me to show you than tell you ... pick and choose. its a tad underexposed but broght the vehicle a tad brighter "turned on the head lamps and "illuminated" the model with the head lights also burned the side of the hills and the top third of the sky... just a suggestion.

Well, CPL is my first choice too! Other things to look for would be the color of the car, like black reflects everything around. Second thing what i'm thinking about would be an open area. The reflections should be really smooth and not disturbing. But anyway, nice shot! 👌🏻

I like the muted color pallette. That vignette draws my eye though. I assume that's done with the vignette slider in raw? My add or would be to never touch that, if you want to draw focus with lighting them use radial gradients or better still, curves and mask realistically in Photoshop
