Dominic Mann's picture

Ford GT Heritage Edition

Built these for a marketing boost on the featured car. I rarely get the opportunity to leave the premises with these vehicles so, depending on the purpose of the shoot, I will sometimes composite the images into more exciting locations.

The shoot itself was pretty straight-forward as I had already figured out the Adobe stock backplates that I wanted to use. I then set up the angles with those in mind (and on my phone as a reference) and used bracketed exposures for each polarizer turn.

I gave the images a few basic adjustments in camera raw before importing them into Photoshop where I aligned and distorted the vehicle/background where necessary. That's the tricky part and one that I find hugely difficult to nail but, after some further colour toning and contrast adjustments, I'm pretty pleased with the results overall!

Front/side exif data:
ISO 100, f/8, 1/125-1/60

Rear exif data:
ISO 100, f/4.5, 1/800-1/200

No exif data for the backplate.

Thanks, Adair! Yeah, I wasn't completely sold on the original sky and I'm pleased I made the switch with it!
