Grilled Chicken Taco Salad

Hello Everyone,

This is a follow on assignment for one of our restaurant clients, in the development of their new menu. Unlike our standard shooting workflow of briefly intercepting an actual guest plate going out (about 20-30 seconds), the four new menu items we completed, had no waiting guests. At the instruction of the owner, we ate all of them.

Simple set up; single softbox strobe, modifier near 150 degrees opposite, wireless trigger, 180th, Pentax K3 w/ Pentax 100mm 2.8 macro.

Depending on image use for various print and or web needs, we frame and edit to include (corner relief), the restaurants logo/brand for print and web, including our attribution on all electronic uses.

Some believe strongly both for and against branding and watermarking, I believe in protecting the investment of the restaurant owner, and our mutual hard work.

Cheers,

James-

Lots going on here, quite the meal! A good shot that's fairly dynamic, though I think it lacks a real centre of interest. Perhaps moving in closer, or using a lower angle to focus in on one or two elements of the dish could make it pop a little more. Either way, great lighting on the chicken and cheese in particular!

Thanks for the feedback LT. The theme for the printed menu and web images is to be wide enough to show a good portion of the plate, but tight enough to bring out delicious details.
