Add Photo issue ? Just me ?

I've been trying to add a photo ( upload ) the past 4 hours to no avail.
It just stays on the "One moment" rotating shutter forever.
Anybody else having troubles uploading a photo or is it just me ?

How large is the image you are trying to upload? Can you try with another image, and see if that works?

Originally 2048, scaled down to 960 and it still doesn't work.

Scott, we've made some adjustments. Can you try uploading this again and report back?

Nope. Still doesn't.

Is it a particular image, or any image? Do you get an error? Can you send me the image to admin@fstoppers.com so I can test on our end?

It's a bunch of different images. I'll see what I can do.

The Image you sent uploaded fine. I see that you have it in your portfolio already. Am I missing something?

I've been having problems uploading it into a group I am part of...

I tested it in a group as an upload with several browsers, It worked. I'm going to need more info to help you with this one.

What browser are you using? Did you try a different browser? Clear your cache? Any errors on the screen?

I tried it in Safari Firefox and chrome and it just has a spinning wheel of death I haven't cleared cash but I also tried it in private browsing mode so that should've figured out the cash issue

And two different computers

I also can't delete pics... Ugh

Mac, what happens when you try to delete? do you get an error? Is it happening with a specific photo or any photo?

Just saw your post in the website support group. https://fstoppers.com/groups/website-technical-support/73210/unable-dele...
Sorry we missed it. We are looking into it.

I sent an e-mail to the staff here, they are aware of that, don't know when it will be fixed though.

Initially tried to upload a 2560px wide photo weighting 3.8MB, then just for the sake of it I resized it, ending up with a 1280xYYY resolution and just 1.1MB filesize, still failing to upload though.

I am unable to reproduce this. Can you email me the photo admin@fstoppers.com So I can test it on my end?

Tried to upload another photo.
Smaller file & size, this one "went through" but neither the thumbnail neither the photo appears.
A little box with a X is being displayed instead on all pages ( upload, edit, newest photos page, my profile, my portfolio )

here's the link to it:

Can you email me this image too?

We've made some adjustments. Try this image again, please.

It uploaded fine now.
I'm almost certain that everything's fine now.

If you still want me to send you over the file just let me know ;)

Nope. Think we're good. Thanks for your help in tracking this down.

You're welcome.
I've been in your shoes plenty of times, I can feel your relief :D

Done!

Ok, so I figured out what's going on here. The uploader is choking on the apostrophe in your file name. I removed it and was able to successfully upload that image. I will fix this shortly, but in the meantime, try doing that and see if it resolves your issue.

Doing that and trying to upload it in a sec.

I'm surprised you haven't implemented a special characters strip function in the filename input ( also surprised by myself for adding special chars to a filename :D )

There is, it's just failing in this particular case. Is working for all others I test. Will get to the bottom of it.

Weird, computers and code haha :-D

The photo I sent you was successfully uploaded after a rename ;-)

Reviving the thread since yesterday and today I had a few issues with the photos on the site's community section.

I had like 4 images of other members that wouldn't show up, even though they were there, and some of them loaded after a few reloads ( F5 ) [ also tried Forced Re-download { ignore cached content } the famous Ctrl + F5 ] with no success.

A few moments earlier I had this when trying to view a new photo of a person I'm following here ( see attached pic )

I'm having a similar issue, but with adding a profile pic. It's a small pic, around 700kb and 1000px square. The message that comes up says "The file used in the User Avatar field may not be referenced." Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Not just you, I have had the same issue for months. I have tried different sizes, different computers, different browsers, and renaming files to something as simple as "test" all to no avail

I can't get the system to take my list of cameras I use. Maybe the Nikon F isn't good enough? Or my Rolleiflex. I use them more than my DSLR.
