Welcome to the Video and Film Community Group!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the new group, would love to hear about your favorite video set-up that you use! And of course, many of us use DSLRs!

Here in the office we usually set up two Nikon D750s with a 24-70mm and a 70-200mm lens. Personally I shoot with a Canon 7d and my nifty 50 1.8 (I lovingly call it my bouncy ball lens), or a 35mm.

What's your set-up?

I've pared my kit down over the years, as now i mostly shoot news styled video and photo at the same time.

Canon 70D ( i like swivel screens too much to move to a full frame)
Sigma 17-70
Sigma 70-200 2.8 (for photo)
Videomic pro
Sony wireless lav
Lowell Blender light kit
Rotolight
Manfrotto 560 w/fluid head
FCPX

It's all about speed and portability. I cut a couple videos a day, along with accompanying photos.

I've shot with a wide variety of cameras and set ups. The client's budget will typically dictate what I use. But if I had my druthers, it would be the Canon C100 with the Tokina 11-16, Canon 14L, Canon 50 1.2 and the Canon 70-200 2.8. For audio I love the Zoom H6 with Sennheiser G3.

My go to "DSLR" (which isn't) is the Sony A7S or Panasonic GH4. If I use the GH4, I opt for the Metabones speed booster and use the aforementioned lenses. If I don't get the booster, I'll get Panny's MFT 7-12 and their 35-100.

For my NLE? FCPX all the way baby.

But I shot this video with essentially two consumer cameras: the T2i and the Fuji XE2.

for sure, it's only ever partially about the camera. I shot and edited this on my iphone 4 way back when imovie was released for iPhone.
