I've heard it said that action sports photography is one of the most challenging from of photography.
I'm not really the one to confirm that, but I do know why it can be so challenging, and why that could be a common thought.
The practice of scouting a location is almost nonexistent, at least for the action shots. Most of the time you're seeing the location minutes before making the photo.
It has to be quick and you have to make that photo with what you have. You have to be extremely resourceful and solve problems in seconds. When it happens, it happens and you have to be ready.
In many cases where the rider is doing something big they aren't going to wait all day for you and when they do it it's a one time thing. Yeah have to get it, and do it quickly.
Along with many other factors to battle.
Just wanted to do a little random write up.
This photo is a perfect example. We were riding and Jake very randomly said he thought he could do this huge rail. I had to set up quick so his nerves didn't get the better of him. This was a one time thing. You don't get a second run at a 20 stair rail. One time and better get it good.
Big handrails with my friend Jake Sheets plus a little rant haha
