I'm sure if you have seen any of my other work on here you know I am primarily a food/food product photographer. I recently did this shoot to help sell-in my client's products into a restaurant and grocery store. There were obviously more images than what I am showing here but I felt like these two were a good representation of the work. What do you guys think?
These are solid catalog style food photos, and I am sure the client is happy with them. I tend to think that more editorial food photos with full settings are more engaging and sell food better, but that is a style choice with you and your client.
They're great! I Love 'em.
The brownie is perfection. Two small details come to mind on the root beer that are not criticisms at all but might take it to the next level.
How about reducing the opacity of the mug handle to about 75% to sell the composite and let a little of the background through. This might reduce the floating quality.
I also did a test on your image by increasing the saturation of the shadow so it wasn't so gray and it really helps sell the warm yellow and orange theme. It's a tricky hack because of the soft edges but it seemed to help.
