A few shots for my restaurants instagram

Taking a few photos of my restaurant's new menu, any advice is appreciated - Still an amateur in the photography world so if you spot any beginner's mistakes please, point em out!

The food color, flavors, and styling look great, but the wide angle photos do not focus enough on the best aspect of your business. The detailed textures of a close up of the food would have much more appeal than the bland table, silverware, and walls. It's hard to judge size, but dishes with smaller food and lots of empty space on the plate look small.

Lighting is too harsh. The secret of food photography is soft lighting.

I think it's nice showing the environment but it doesn't have to be shown in every photo- people like to see close-up, textures of food. If you have a nice window I'd set the food up near the window and try some shots there.
