Dancing in the Rain

This is one of my favourites. The heavens opened up for around 10 minutes capturing pedestrians by surprise. As everyone ran for cover, this girl was enjoying the moment. Cafe patrons looked on amused and a bystander sheltered for cover in a doorway. I think all the elements in this scene tell an interesting story. Taken in Melbourne’s Laneways, Australia.

It is not often I give five stars for a black and white street photo. But your picture is absolutely fantastic, I love it. Excellent work!

Thankyou Carl. I really appreciate the great feedback.

Brilliant shot, such a great in the moment capture, great lines pulling my eye through the scene. I've been wanting to try out street photography for a while, just haven't gotten there yet, but this image just gave me some real juice to get out there. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Joe. This was one of those lucky moments, right place, right time and a camera. It all came together like a movie scene.

Wonderful shot, my one quirk is the guy on the left, it would have perfect if he had been looking at the girl in the rain. That said there are so many things that are right in this shot I can see past him. Also, I don't think it would work to crop it, the frame makes it another area of interest for the viewer.
