Hey guys, my newest work, and probably I feel some of my strongest... but I know it could be stronger. So please tear this image apart in critiques, and lets see what I learn.
Usually I don't light this way direct sun/shadows, but I was sucked into a youtube video that made me want to try it out (funny how that happens). Thanks guys!
I quite honestly think this is very good.
What I like:
- Color saturation and skin tones are great!
- facial expression is good
- pose and positioning of fabric is good
What I think could improve:
- The crop. I dont particularly care for how the image slices though her arm and how close the eyes are to the edge of the image.
- I might consider removing the reflections of the diamonds on the underarm.
- I might dodge and burn the cheek a bit more as it seems a bit uneven.
Really that is it. What it boils down to is that I think its a fantastic image with a crop that does not particularly "feel" good to me. A tad more room up top, and a tad further down on her thigh, and I imagine it would be a truly solid image.
Regardless, thats just be nitpicking and this really is some solid work. Way to go!
Thanks so much peter, really good things to think about with crops going into my next shoot, also especially the sparkles on the skin, as I shoot a lot of pageant girls and I notice this in a lot of the images. Thanks so much for the critique!
I like the image a lot. I honestly couldn't find anything I would move, remove, etc. I know some people may point out the shadows are unappealing but for this it works in my opinion.
